Any reason why the pistons would be marred up on the reed side ??


It' s water and snow wash oil on piston and the piston mark at the intake. Use a good air filter under the dash, ad alcool on gaz and good syntetic oil.
 
could have possibly started to "cold sieze".??? just a thought... pistons heat up before cylinders and then rub. if you try to take off too soon then it will actually lock up the engine.
