8BV-03

I use the search and nuttin shows up on this helix 8BV-03 but the 3 is backwards can anybody tell if this is the 45 deg helix

The 8BV-30 that you have is a 43 degree helix. A 45 degree helix would be stamped 8BV-50.

would it be just a casting flaw as the helix is 8BV-03 but the 3 is backwards

the number 30 is cast upside down is all....
