Broken chain

After removing the cover I was surprised at how good the inside of the case looked. But after closer inspection I noticed two broken links in the chain. The gears look fine to me but it is the 1st set I've seen. Anyway, my question is; Can I just replace the chain and leave the old gears? I will be using a used chain. My sled has 12,400 miles. Should I replace the chain, gears, tensioner as a set(used). I also want to replace the shaft bearings, they look great, but the seals are starting to go.

Gears, and tensioner should be fine. I would replace all bearings and seals along with the chain. A local bearing shop will save you at least half the cost on the seals and bearings, at least it does for me.

What year is your sled, if it's a 1992 I suggest you upgrade that 13 wide chain/gear combo to at least the 15 wide design.
