North Bay, Ontario had record snowfall this year. This was mainly due to warmer temps. in the south. When the Great Lakes don't freeze to the extent which is considered normal.... the lake effect snow presents itself thoughout the duration of the winter. With that said, I have a race lake story to share.
I met a few dudes on Friday of my trip. They were all running heavy iron. 06 - 1000 - MXZ, 04 - 900 ZR, 05 -800 MX- HO, 05 - Polaris- 800 ????.
I am running stock V-4 96-800 motor, 10.5" pro. action, 3:16 clutching, I beat then all all except the mxz 1000. It had me by 6 mph. Dude had EFI @ 39 F, where me and the 900 ZR were jetted for -30 F. By the way I out weighred the dude by 100 lbs. Not bad for a big sled and dude.
