rear suspension

There is a 98 sxr rear suspension on my local craigslist. Would this be a good transplant into my 92 vmax4? He wants $115, but sounds like it would need a new shock. I have a M-10 in another sled that I'm thinking about putting in my 4. Any input would be appreciated.
 

I put the same suspension in my 93.
im 90% sure the sxr suspension had the 11.5 inches of travel.
rides damnd good doesnt ice up nearly as much as the factory skid.
but the main thing i love about it is the tuneability. it is infinite. there are so many ways to adjust transfer, stiffness, and approach its unbelievable. its taking me a while to get it dialed in, but im getting close, and when i get it, it will be perfect.
oh, not sure if your big on shaving weight, but the sxr skid weighs i think 5-10 pounds more.. worth it though
