Just got a 1992 Vmax 4 in good shape. I am going to restore this to SHOW quality but while still being able to ride it. The front strut tubes (pogos) are dented because of where the guy parked it in his garage (kept getting whacked by his mower). Where can i get new or used ones in great shape? I am most likely going to paint them anyway so surface scratches dont really matter. May be in the market for other spare parts so if you guys could point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it.

I used schmidt brothers to repair both of mine on my 93 and they did a really nice jib. They can also do some othe nice suspension upgrades for you. Link is bellow. they repair and paind for around $55.00. I know there's a new one on abay for around 100.00 also........ http://www.schmidtbrosmotorsports.com/yamaha-vmax-snowmobile/suspension-parts-vx/

Repairs will probably be your easiest option, the 1992 struts are unique to that year only.

Thanks a lot guys. To start I would ne happy if I could get new pogos and new skies. The owner took off the aluminum stock skies and I want to put them back. Any one have a set for a 1992???

Hello and welcome. You have come to the right place. These guys are a weath of information, and always willing to lend a hand. I have fixed dents in pogos simply by cutting the top off the strut tube, then getting a seal driver that fits tight inside the tube and driving it iside. It pushes the tents out and then you just need to weld the top back on. This has worked really well for me. Hope this suggestion helps you and others aswell...Rob.
