I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death in the past. However I'm kinda new to the site and a V4 - 800, 1996. Motor and pipes are totally stock. I will be running a multi angle helix (49 - 43)
Carbs currently have stock 143.8 jets. The pipes are lined with carbon for about 1.0" after the Y pipe. I live in Ontario. I want a setup for -2C to -20C = 28F to -4F. The alltitude here doesn't get over 500'.
Has anyone have experience with aftermarket roller secondary units.
Thanks,
Dan

I`m pretty sure someone around here had mentioned going with a roller secondary, but i cant remember who. There`s still some people out there, that has`nt came back from summer break yet:D, and/or has`nt re regristered for this site yet, (since it went hay wire about a week ago) but be patient, and your questions will get a response. congrats on the vmax 4`s by the way! Never tried a roller secondary,
I ran 141.3 mains in my 96' 800 with the needle leaned one clip with good results here in Michigan 500-1500'

I'VE HAD A MAXIUM ROLLER SECONDARY ON MY 96 800 FOR ABOUT 8 YEARS. WHEN I WAS TRAIL RIDING THE SLED IT WORKED GREAT! I KNOW QUITE A FEW PEOPLE THAT ARE NOW RUNNING A TEAM SECONDARY ON THIER SLEDS WITH GREAT SUCCESS. I'VE BEEN TOLD YOU CAN PUT ONE ON THE 800 BUT I HAVE YET TO CHECK ON THIS. GOOD LUCK!!

So far a roller on anything has worked real well for me. Trail it feels like it's on pipe more. Good back shift, fun. Most times it drops the rpm about the same as adding 3~4 deg to the helix.
Your 49/43 would shift like a 52/46

I had a roller in my mtn vmax4 backshift was way better and just performed way better all around. When changing from the stock clutches I had been trying to get set up to the Polaris Primary and Performance Engineering and Machine (PEM) secondary after a little setup I gained about 10-15 mph trackspeed clmbing was one of the best mods I did.
