Does anyone know the best way to advance or retard the timing or does it have to be done in the CDI?

DUDE, TIMING NEVER GETS ADVANCED AT THE CDI UNLESS YOUR CHANGEING BOX FOR 180 FIRING. ALL CHANGES MUST BE MADE AT THE MAGNETO AND STATOR. I BBELIEVE THERE WAS A HOT TIMING TIP ON THE VMAX 4 TO GO UP ABOUT 3 DEGREE,s. I BELEIVE THIS WAS DONE TO MY 95 800. TIMMG SPEC WAS OFF FROM STOCK. !! 3:16 (tony)

anymore info on timing? is 3 deg. the way to go.
