Are there cast iron sleeves available for the vmax 800??? would this be a resonable option for building a bigbore over the nic cylinders? I see LA sleeve Co. makes custom sleeves, wonding if Hauck pistons would work with this type of application, or do they use nic cylinders with the big bore kits as well?

LA-sleeve does make cylinder sleeves for the Vmax-800. Their part # is FL-1210 for stock bore, but they are boreable.
I don't have the price on that sleeve right on hand but they are pretty reasonable.
Like you said they will make you a custom sleeve if you need it, but it will be more expensive.
A cast iron sleeve will not last as long as a nicasil cylinder, so its a judgement call on your part.

So Higher HP sleds like the V4 would be better off, with nicasil jugs??? then a lower hp sled?? Like my SRV has had 7 years on the same wisecoe's and cast iron bores! so do you know if the big bore kits that were offered from Hauck, bender and the rest of them used Nicasil jugs??? thanks for your help MOF.

The two big problems that are associated with cast iron sleeves are they don't wear as long as a nicasil bore and they hold more heat in the cylinder. The advantage is they are boreable.
I'm not sure what Hauck does but my guess is they actually use a nicasil plated sleeve, but it is possible they use a cast iron sleeve. I would say if done right it could last, as long as the clearances are setup properly and so on.
It also would depend on the type of piston you use, forged pistons are stronger but they are typically harder on cylinder bores because they are usually setup with slightly higher piston/cylinder clearance.
I think cast iron sleeves do work, but they are old technology. You would deffinitely have to keep an eye on the condition of your motor, not so much just gas n' go like the nicasil bores.

All of them that I know of use Nicasil. The stock 800 cyl can be bored and Nicasil to 72mm or more

its the darn Nicasil thats soo expensive!!! wow stock 65mm to 72mm what would the displacment be with 72mm pistons?? so I can take my stock cylinder and bore them out and renicasil them?? or can you take a regular cast iron bore and nicasil the cylinder say on a different sled? or is that a waste of money.

Ya get what ya pay for as they say. Nicasil aluminum bores are superior.
I checked my books, Hauck bores your cylinders and then replates when they do a BB
