I'm not really new, I have been around since the old site but I have been more of a lurker than a poster.
I bought my 94 750 ST a year and a half ago but I have never ridden it until this weekend. I bought it running but first snow fall last year we realized something was wrong motor wise. A long time and a lot of $ later it works great! Thanks for all the advice and even some of the parts :) I had the crank rebuild and pined for strength, new pistons and rings, 2 new cylinders, 4 rebuilt carbs. I have never driven a sled that will pick the front skis up just by mashing the throttle.
I also got to drive a couple of nearly new sleds because they all wanted to try the vmax :)
Thanks
Corey

smith,
Welcome! I am glad to hear you got to ride your sled and it sounds like it was a rush. I can't wait for my first ride on mine. It sounds like we were in the same type of problem. It has been 1 year and 4 months since I got mine and I am finally about done.

Thanks guys.
So during the year or so I was dumping $ into the vmax I also bought a smaller AC 550. It is a decent, good working sled. I can't justify owning 2 especially with the little snow we get around here. So one has to go.
So give me your honest, albeit biased opinions :)
I have only a few hundred miles of sledding experience. I have never been on a groomed trail. We have some around, but not many. Should I keep the lighter AC with better suspesion that is better on fuel? Or should I keep the vmax that bring a smile to your face when you mash the throttle?
If I keep the vmax I definitly need to improve the suspension, at least bring it back to as good as stock. I am quite sure my rear shock is toast at least. What's the difference between my seld and a non ST version besides the longer track.
If I sell it, what is it worth? It has 14k kms. There is a scuff on one front shock and side panel. No cracks in plastic or rips in seat. Obviosly works really well now. I have replace all the bearing, wheels and sliders that needed replacing. Track is in good shape and is studded.
Thanks...not back to lurking through the rest of the site :)
