fuel pump

anybody have the fuel pump go bad on your max?
mine seemed like it is running lean on 2 cyl. on top end, I have gone up into the 150's with the mains and hasnt helped. I'm just hoping it isnt a crank seal! It is fine at trail speeds but if I open it up then it seems to run lean.

just try running one pump and see if the problem goes away....!i believe one fuel pump can handle up to 200hp if not more.

Never seen one go bad, I got some bad fuel once and one pump froze up solid then she would only hit on 2 cyl's.

Do you have two cyl's that are lean, or just cyl #2?
Just switch pumps side to side and see if the lean problem follows the pump.

I really don't know if one pump can keep up at WOT.

In case someone doesn't figure it out - be sure to "T" the lines so the one pump will supply all 4 carbs, not just 2.

I haven't had fuel pump failures - yet.
