If you're interested, call Bender. They may tool up to run another batch of Wilwoods later on if they get enough interest. I put my name on their contact list if case they do.
I have a '97 with the stock hydraulic and the '96 with the mechanical and looked at how I could change the '96. Not real easy for a good clean looking job. The '97 has a different gearbox cover designed for this.
My solution - just don't ride a sled with the hydraulic set up. If you don't know any better, you'll stay content.

i second that wildmax my 93 max is the newest i owned the brakes work fine for me just because i have never sampled better:i_need_sn

I think thats the type of setup being used on the 97' V4, not an easy job.

you cant buy the parts new from yamaha to convert? or is it more $$ than it is worth? thats one of the places I always felt my 96 could have been improved. far more capable of an engine than the brakes allowed for lol! that and traction were the two lowest points

I guess the hardest job is setting up the caliper to fit!!!!
