View Full Version : tracks clipped every 3rd window=drivers
I bought a 144 inch ripsaw off ebay, thought I got a great deal. Got it out of the box and noticed it was only clipped every 3rd window. I have seen many post on here about this..and seems people are happy either way....My main question is can I run anti ratchet drivers with this. I "thought" that the anti ratchet drivers stick through the windows of the track? I could ...and probably am wrong, But can somebody explain this to me. Is the extrovert and anit ratchet the same thing? and do they work like a gear in the track window? thanks, Sounds like a pretty basic question, just never had to deal with this before.
That track won,t work unless you punch out the windows & install clips.
Yeah Turks right 3ft - You must have all your windows open.
Anti-ratchet drivers and extroverts are the same thing, like you said they work like a gear in the track windows. There are two differant styles that Im aware of: sprockets that you sandwich between your stock drivers, giving you 6 sprockets on your shaft. Or the kind like I just bought off Rich "wahl racing patented" style that let you pitch your stock drivers and just run 2 sprockets that actually drive your track with extrovert teeth through the windows and drive off of the drive lugs inside the track - IMO the latter are the way to go due to the less rotating mass, and lighter weight than 6 sprockets.
Heres a pic of my new wahl patent anti-ratchets

Just cut those windows. quite easy job.
Thanks guys, that clears it up for me. Glad to hear that cutting windows isn't too hard...what is the best way to do that. Do I need to burn the edges before I install the clips?

I use normal knife (where you cut the blade when it's not sharp anymore) Use oil spray with it.
