I had my sled trailered ready to go on vaction (no covers) when over night the temps dropped 50 degrees and froze my hot water heat (house) So spending the next 2 1/2 days repairing piping (not vaction prepping) the sleds got about a inch of ice on them. After the 20 plus hour days sweating pipes I had about 3 hours to deice the sleds and transfer them to a inclosed trailer for our vaction. Well lightly tapping the ice off was working pretty good untill it snapped my trottle lever off. SHIT....
So what to do? I jerry rigged it! I drilled small holes( 1/32) then got some thread, sewing it together....then super gluing the thread sorta like carbon fiber (jerry rig style) Well it held up 400 miles of hard riding.I got the thread and glue at a gas station on the way to our vaction.Dried in the enclosed trailer on the way up.
Just thought I'd share my little adventure.By the way the trip was good.I'll post pics later today.

Mic,
Now, that is what I call, jerry rigging!! You know you did a good job, if it it lasted 400 miles! Great job sewing. I have Carhardt bibs that need some sewing done, any chance I could send them to you? LOL You are a real MacGyver.

what a bummer, and just before you head out on your trip too. Glad to hear that your rig held up though. cant wait to see some pics.

i notice you chose yellow thread. thats good for 10 points on the jerry rig scale. keeping the color scheme correct. :D
