I feel bad for all the guys on this board that are begging for snow & we have had over 100" here in the Cascades since Dec & we 1st went out this past weekend!!
Had to work on some family health issues w/ my Mom in Dec & most of Jan
so did not have the time then & wanted to get the PSI's & clutching done before we rode this year. The area we are in here is right by Mt Bachelor, OR
Base is running from 150" to 190" of snow when we rode this on Sat.
38-40 Degrees, & cloudy.

Should be able to ride well into late April, early May unless it gets really warm.
Elevation ranges from 4700' to 7500'.

Yeah, got to take care of the family stuff 1st. Someday, they may not be around or whatever so, top priority.

As a former Wisc. resident, I can relate to your lack of snow. Have inlaws
back there & friends in MN so we keep tab on the weather & you guys just are not having the snow & winters I remember as a kid. Gosh the blizzards of the 60's & 70's, long cold nights, you were either bowling, snowmobiling, or ??? plus drinking went with both in those days to pass the winter away, & of course, rooting for the "Pack". Which we still do for whatever thats worth today!:Yam:

You lucky SOB:a6: I wish we had that kind of snow here. Our sledding season ended very suddenly when we had a storm with some warm weather and all the snow blew away or melted now we have summer like weather outside!:summer_su

Hey Ernie: Sorry to hear about lack of snow,:2tongue: That really sucks.

Question for you, is that your Max in the avatar & if so, what suspension are you running. I like the way the sled sits. Looks good. :4fzfk2:

I just got a 04 RX1 suspension for a conversion project this summer & wondered if thats what you have.
If you did the conversion, any pointers or helpful hints?

Will send up a prayer to the "snow gods" for ya.

Hey Rob
Yes that is my max and I have a 121" M10 suspension with 3˝" home made extensions on it. The suspension is relocated 3˝" to get a better attack angle on the track/suspension.

Riding the sled is great with the M10 suspension.

Great pics Racerrob! We have had -30c weather here lately. This morning a bit better, only -20c so I´ll be out riding today.

HI Ike:
What is the conversion to farenheit??
When you say minus 20C, what is that in the good "old American"
system.?
I seem to recall that once we hit 0, both the celsius & farenheit scale got close, is that so??

I have ridden at -30F in Upper Michigan, but that really is not fun no matter how many damn clothes you have on!!!

We are fortunate here in the Cascades, worst I have seen is -10F.

Have a good ride & dont freeze any important parts!!LOL:4fzfk2:

-30.00 degC = -22.00 degF

-20.00 degC = -4.00 degF

I used this : http://www.chemie.fu-berlin.de/chemistry/general/units_en.html#temp

Thank´s for the warning! I don´t want to get frostbites down there....
LOL

Hey Ike:
How was your cold ride?? Keep everything warm, LOL
With the temp as cold as you have, do you also get a lot of powder snow conditions there as we get in the Cascade mountains in Or & Wa??
How late can you ride in decent snow??

The attached pics, are "oops" in 20" powder.
Our snow base right now is in the 140" to 160" range with an expected 8-10"
projected the next few nights.:4fzfk2:

We expect to ride well into May. Good thing as I just started getting things going now!!:Yam:

Ride went well. It was cold, but good riding. And if I get any frostbytes, I just have to ask my wife to defrost `em... LOL:moon:

We usually get 3-5 feet of snow here. More in the fjell ares. Not that much powder. From the guys whom have been at your side of the Atlantic, say that our snow is different, more moist = we get hard pack, heavy snow more. Don´t know the truth about that though. But in midwinter we have that bottomless powder here too. Atleast it feels bottomless when going trough it with my V4...

My season is usually 5 - 6 months. I still ride in 1 week of may (normal winters). Midwinter is really cold here. -30 temps are not unusual... But from now to late april, it just a ball. Sunshine and great snow! Got to love it!

Here some old pics...
