After I get my sled finished I want to run some races for fun, to start out with and get my feet wet. Im looking for info and advice. Is there a way to do this without a lot of class restrictions "run what you brung"? I was thinking that would help me work on reaction time, clutching, and jetting, and get familiar with the way things work, besides I dont have any idea of what class I would run in with my mods or even how all that works.
Any ideas, info or advice? or places to go on the web for info on sanctioned and unsanctioned events, rules and classes.
Also, what is outlaw racing?

I have the ISRA sanctioning rule book. Give me a call, I left ya my number. I'll let you know what the classes consist of, figure out which one you wanna run and I'll give ya copys of the rules for that class

I think outlaw racing would be just a bunch of guys betting together, and running some races. it would`nt be sanctioned or sponsored or anything like that. kinda like a run what ya brung back yard deal, Thats what I`ve always thought. and speaking of that. I`ve been entertaining the idea of getting a bunch of locals together for just such an event. problem is, I`m kinda worried about who might show up, and what kind of shape they might be in(drinking, dangerous rideing ect.) the only way I can see it turning out decent, is if I could form some kind of security team. and that in its self may cause problems. it would be kinda hard for a bunch of goones to tell people to go away, especialy if they have been drinking. what I really need to pull this off, is a friend with a large enough yard, that we could run on private property. that way, we could turn down people at the "gate" if need be, BUT, another concern would be lawsuits. what if someone got hurt on so and so`s property. I`ve been thinking about it for awhile, but have`nt concluded the best way to go about pulling it off yet.

When the ice comes, all of you come to Anchor Bay. All of us can pal around together on the lake. You will have a great time or your money back!

I can help ya tune your sled some also, if you want.

Acording to map quest, anchor bay is only 67 miles from flint, and i live a couple miles south of flint, so its actually a few miles less than that:D . I`m pretty dang sure i can make it that far even if I had to ride it:muahaha: . now here`s the only problem i might have, The only thing I have that i can pull my sled with right now, is my camper. would there be a place around there to park it for the weekend? if so, i would just stay in it, and hang out for the weekend and ride the heck out of my vmax. I really need to get the ole lady`s truck back on the road, i think she may have broke her flywheel, that or I`m going to be doing a motor rebuild, and that aint happening any time soon, thats for sure. Man, that sounds great but only a million miles away. I'm feeling like I'm missing all the fun - el toro solo.

Bring the SRX! I'm sure we can do something with it. I'm one mile north of the Harsen Island Ferry.

Sounds good to me. Lake St Clair won't freeze across to Can.. so we won't go far, but we do lots of racing.

toydoc, when does the ice usually get good and froze around there?
one way or another, I`m gonna get my sled down there this year, finaly got the ole lady`s truck fixed, but there`s one problem, she got in it, left and never came back. LOL, really though, I`m down to my camper again, but, I`ve drove it all the way to mio in a major winter storm, so just driving it about 70 miles down there and back in a day aint gonna be no big deal, and if I can park it anywhere near the lake, we could always hop in it for a few to warm up or whatever, its not very big, we could could get a pretty decent little vmax4 group in er..:D
