View Full Version : My yearly snowmobile trip around eastern Lapland.
I´ll be going next friday on our yearly trip. Every year we ride few hundred kilometers around north-east Lapland. This year we are going to Savukoski.
There are four in our group this year. There were supposed to be more, but since my brother is getting his leg operated...
Anyway, I´ll post pics and videos here when I´m back.
Here is our route (so far planned ):
http://i1.tinypic.com/ru413k.jpg
We leave from Savukoski (no1.) and ride to Tulppio (no2.) where we are going to spend the night. From there we are going to ride to Naruska (no3.) for the second night. We have rented cottages for each night. Trails should be in good condition and lots of snow. Trails are marked as black dot lines.

Nice, sunny, trees, no drifts,,,,,Nice. About how much gas you use? Did you carry extra? The stock skis work ok in the powder? A nice trip to remember.

My sled used from 19 l/100km to 33 l/100km.... When going trough the deep stuff, I hoovers everything.
My friends carried extra fuel, since I don´t have rear rack (yet).
Stock ski´s suck on powder. They push and sink without any warnings!
