Well I finally ordered a new track today. Went with the Camo 9830 1" connected cone track, fully clipped so that I can run anti-ratchets. Now I'm looking into what studs and backers are best. I've been told to stick with Woody's and I'm fine with that they are the name I'm most familiar with anyways, but what size and type stud should I be running with a 1" lug and is there and difference as to what type of backer I use?

I mainly use this sled for occassional trail riding but do blast down the ice strip from time to time with some buds and would like to have some good bite. I'm planning on sticking with using only 144 and not 192 as was on the sled previously.

Who has the best deals on studs? These things aren't cheap!

Opnions welcome!

How about 1.075" Woodys Megabites with single and double digger plates, also I don't know if 144 picks are going to do much good?

Did you order a 9830 or a different number? The 9830 is a 6-pitch Predator with every third window closed, the 9837 is fully clipped. The 9854 is the connected cone but it's no longer available fully clipped. Just don't want to see you get the wrong track.

Ken, I ordered the track from Rich at Rich Motorsports, I forget the exact number, but it is the 9830 design, but the version that is fully clipped. Thanks for lookin out for me!

It's probably the 9837 that you are getting. They don't look all that impressive but they sure hook-up good for a 1" track.

Ken, that's what I'm hoping. Talked to Rich and he said that this was the best all around track for traction and acceleration. I was going back and forth between the 9837 and the hacksaw but ended up with the 9837, may go with the hacksaw for my 600.

The Big East Snowmobile show is in a couple weeks, may be able to get some really good deals on tracks and studs there. We'll see.
