I have installed a Yamaha belt part # 8BU-17641-01 in my 92 vmax-4 and it squeals like a stuck pig and the sled does not what to stand still. Is this the right belt? I have a kimpex KP144-5248 that does not squeal but this belt has a bad spot. Thanks in advance

Thats the correct belt, sound like you center to center distance if off...
Center to center distance is 363.5 mm to 366.5 mm or 14.3 inches to 14.4 inches...

14.3 - 14.4in is the center to center on the 800's!

For 750's:
Engine idle speed = 1400-1600 RPM
Clutch engagement speed = 3600RPM
Drive belt height above the secondary sheave when engine is stopped = .08-.12 in.
Clutch center-to-center distance 14.3-14.4 in.
Clutch sheave offset from primary to secondary clutch = .57-.69 in.
New belt width = 1.36 in. Belt wear limit = 1.3 in.
The Kimpex belt is probably stretched and rides looser in the clutches. They're not made to handle the power of the 4 cylinder engines. It may also be narrower from wear. You may have always had a center-to-center, offset, or engine idle speed problem that's showing up now with the new Yamaha belt that's to spec.

For 750's, Drive belt height above the secondary sheave when engine is stopped = .08-.12 in. Shark
Make sure this is within spec if not it can cause the belt to squeal,
IMHO I would check and adjust all the specs listed on Sharks above post.
