Well here's your chance guys to see what's the most popular production year of your favorite V-4 sled. Will be interesting to see how all the members vote on this one. Don't think we have ever done this kind of poll? Dean maybe before my time here?

Just going to Sticky this Poll is that okay? Hope you don't mind hate to see it on another page and have to bring it back to the top. Noticed that it's getting busy here of late.

Ken and Shark are soooooo funny :)

I know that Dean has the little icons of V-Max4's above but there pretty small. We should start adding photos here and see if we can get all the years. Ken can you take a side view of you 92? I got a good one of my 93. I'll add it here and make it a good size for all to see.

Has Lisa fired up the big max yet? You guys should line up the two V-4's and see who's faster on grass? That be cool to see on video just don't hit any horses on the farm you don't want to put a scratch on your sleds.:muahaha:

You have 2 sweet looking V-Max4's. From the look of the photo they look showroom condition to me.

Do you think someday of getting another V-4? You just need to get a 94 and you got all the 750's.:muahaha:

I'll let you know what comes my way for sure for a track Doug. If I would have parted out one of the sleds I gave to my friends kids you could have gotten the new track on it. He's got one little old machine for 3 kids. So I gave him a newer bigger sled. You know how when you help others good things will come around. Well I put an offer on his home recently that was for sale and they lowerd the price for us to purchase it! They even said the 12' trampoline and netting can stay for our kids. Were moving December 15th our home goes on the market tomorow. Already had people interested in it witch is a good start.

Do you find the small wheels at the bend in the rail help? I've been thinking of getting some for my proaction skid.

Yes, I think they do make a difference. I had them on my stock suspension also, and I noticed that the slides didn't wear out as fast at the bend, which is usually the first place they get thin. I was thinking about putting another set just ahead of those on the inside of the rails, but haven't looked into the clearance issues yet. Actually, I was thinking about machining a couple pieces of metal to match the bend and line up a row of bearings from the front of the 5 1/8" wheels around the front of the bend and use them like billet wheels. It seems like sealed bearings would make good rollers on the rubber track, and would have a nice low profile. It might not be worth the effort, but it would look cool. (And isn't that what it's all about anyway? )

Why could they not have made them till 2007 I think Yamaha should make a new version again soon.

Oh well at least we had 5 years of the great V-Max4. Would be neat to see a 1,000 4 cylinder 2 stroke sled. I would have to get one for sure. Who knows anything is possible.

I have only owned 2 95's, but would like to get pat Haucks 97. I have another 95 waiting for pick-up in Winnipeg and would like to find another on to make the trip real exciting!!!. I lost out on a 92 or 93 st here in whitehorse and still hope to find it. So many nice sleds here that it is very hard to decide, but 95 takes it for me.

I hope to find 97 chassis preferably Mountain Max and then paint and swap to 95 colours. I would like a mpi tunnel or custom build for use with longer chaincase from cmx (belt drive) . Strange to be so hung up on a 13 year old design, but still nothing looks as cool as a Vmax4. I have been looking at and under some of the 08's and except for the new hollow drive axles, nothing very impressive-Just light and flimsy looking!!

Had them done by a guy who does this as a business, they are vinyl and I just told him kind of what I wanted and that's what he came up with, the cost for me was $100 installed and some screen painting. He does it out of his house and if you are interested I sure I sould put you in contact with him he is very good and reasonable.

I'm going to say 92. Just for today though. Only because I just got a cool leather hat with a 92 on it. Yet I think the 97 looks sooo bad. Standing in the Limberlost looking out the picture windows at the sleds parked on the ice. I can read what it says on the side of my 97. Vmax-4.

I've probably posted my thoughts before as this is such an old, on-going post, but here it is again. All of them have their high points due to updates and improvements and so on. The one I beleive stands out is the 95, and not because I own one, I just happened to stumble across this sled as I was looking for one. It has the updated clutch system, the one peice driveshaft, the stronger chaincase, the updated(balanced) center drive gears, plus a bunch of other upgrades that I'm forgetting or am not aware of. BUT, the most important thing, it's the only 800 produced that was BLACK! The 96 didn't really offer anything and the 97 offered a hydraulic brake and the 11 1/2" rear skid. Just my thoughts.

Ian
