Ok, the stock head light is a 55/60 watt, I was woundering if anybody has put in the 55/100 watt. And if so, how did it work out for you. I woundering if the electrical system will handle that. I have this bulb sitting from a 88 exciter I tried it on. It would run it, But when you went from low to high, it would take about 2-3 seconds for it to light up, Thus running in the dark for a few seconds. I pulled it out almost right away....Figuring that the system wasn't up for that...But wounder if the 800 has enough juice to run it.

I would think that it would be useable, but will the headlight handle it? Too much heat I think... Meltdown... Seen it happen on Ski-Doo´s...

I tried the 100/55w on mine, did not work worth a crap.
On low at idle it was very dim, not much better than stock on high as well.
Picked up some 60/55w PIAA's (very pricey) last fall and those made a noticable difference.

Did you also swap your tail light bulb to a LED type. It takes alot less juice. It makes a world of difference.

I know one thing, I was having a problem with my bulbs blowing out (turned out to be regulator) anyway, I had tried a heavy duty 2257 bulb for my tail light (same thing as a 1157, (but a haevy duty version) and it made my headlight dim as heck, went back to a regular 1157, and my lights were better (or atleast as good as they normaly are) so I would imagine going with some kind of bulb that has even less of a draw then the regular bulb, would help..

I got my 1157 Led at Meijers. Can't remember the price. Before I installed it the lights would dim when I hit the brakes. Since I put it in I have had no problems in my 94 Vmax 600 ST

IMHO yes they are - when the V4 first came out it had one of the best headlights on the trail,
now we are behind the times and the PIAA bulb really helped my sled out.

If you ever had a dual bulb SRX following you - you know that their headlamp overpowers the V4's
and causes your shadow to screw with the view of the trail, at high speeds this is no good unless you want to follow instead of lead!

you guys should try out the Xenon gas H4 60/55w lights on you sleds. I put a pair on my Warrior and wauw for a difference, but they are pricey, but well worth the money. You can buy the bulbs in almost any autostore, but here´s a link you can check out: http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/
