Good Deal?

Hi guys Im new to this site. My brother in law has a 93vmax4 and Ive always admired it. Well Ive been out of sledding for about 15 years-hes after me to get back in now. He has found me a 92vmax4 here for $1500 about 6000mls. Good deal or not. Sled is completely stock and good condition. Too old? What do you think?

As you may know, the '92 was the first year for the Vmax-4. There were some issues with the clutching not being able to handle the power, so make sure it has the clutch upgrade kit from the factory. 6000 miles for a 14 year old sled isn't that bad. As long as it's in good shape and hasn't been sitting out behind the barn for 10 years, it sounds reasonable.

Like your brother-in-law, I also have a '93 with over 13,000 miles and I love it. In 1995 they went to the 800cc engine, and that year is generally accepted as being the fastest out of the box. In '97 they went to the longer travel ProAction suspension for a better ride on the trails, and that is the only year with the hydraulic brake from the factory. It all depends on what you're looking for in a sled.

All Vmax-4's are old, so that's irrelevant. These sleds were built very well, and it's not uncommon to see one with 20,000 miles on it.

Thanx, any input is appreciated. I like to make educated decisions. Ive had an SRX and SRV years ago but nothing like these sleds. The same guy also has a 800 storm with a blown clutch for $1200. The vmax4 is in much better shape.

$1500.00 is not bad but I have seen a few nice 800's in the same price range lately.
