spark plug wires on 79 srx

hi , are the spark plug wires removable from the ignition coil ? Dont want to mess anything up , just happen to notice one wire cap is very loose on the spark plug and the plug looks like it was arcing & black on top .
Anyone ever use better than o.e.m. spark plug wires on their older sled ? :snow:

I have changed the end caps from stockers to NGK's but not the actual wires.Changeing the wires is a good question,Mine seem to be shorter than they started out on my 80 srx and it would be nice to know if it can be done.

NO, WIRES AT COIL ARE NOT INTERCHANGABLE. THEY ARE AT CAP OR PLUGS. THEY USUALLY TWIST ON AND OFF. I ALWAYS HAD BEST LUCK WITH STOCK YAMAHA CAPS. 3:16 (tony)

Thanks guys , maybe i can find a junker or cheap coil to see how hard it is to R & R these wires . I see plenty of end caps for the plug wires on internet .:4fzfpi:
