Is it just me or is anyone else noticing that there seem to be a lot of bad deals on ebay and people are purchasing the stuff.

Here's an example, two air cleaner pipes that list for $6.23 each. Two are on ebay with a starting bid of 19.99 + 4.99 shipping = 24.98. You can go to the dealer and get four of them for $24.92.

How about a $6.77 gasket with a starting bid of $9.99 or buy it now for $20.00. I couldn't resist I had to send the seller a message and ask how much for shipping.

I saw a chaincase chain sell for more than list + shipping.

I saw a used (good condition) snow flap sell for $41.00 plus shipping, they list for around $26.00.

There are still some good deals but no where near what there used to be. I wonder if people get hung up in the bidding, or if sellers are driving up the price by having someone bid for them? I've seen a few items that sold for way too much relisted.

With that said I picked up a 1" fully clipped 6-pitch Predator for $257.00 shipped and a new OEM windshield for $26.00 shipped.

Some people on ebay must enjoy ripping people off. I've watched a few things like the snowflap go for outrageous prices...

Yeah, you have to be careful on ebay. There are people who have their buddies bid on stuff to drive up the price, and I hear that some people have more than one account so they can bid against themselves. You also have to watch the shipping costs, because a lot of people list their item for a little bit less than the other guy, then charge 3-4 times what it actually costs to ship. I'm hopelessly addicted to ebay, and there are still a lot of good deals. Just look at all of the options before buying.

Agree, You have to be careful and read all the "fine print".....But Deals are still to be had. Like Ken said though....I do my home work first. Bought the wife a new digital camera off ebay for xmas...Got a great deal on it and read a few reveiws about it before I bought it...Beats stepping foot into a store this time of year.

thats the way most auctions go. I go to auctions alot in the summer and see it constantly. If people are that stupid to pay more for something used rather than have a new one, more power to em.
