Now that I have a 97 ProAction suspension Is there a newer Yamaha Suspension that has more travel and will bolt right in the the Current 97 ProAction Bolt pattern that I could put in there?

Not that I ever seen. You would most likely have to rivet new holes in the tunel to fit a newer type suspension. There are a few members here with newer sled suspensions in there V-4. You will get some more feedback on this soon. The weekends are pretty busy for most people.

If the ProAction you're using is the short travel like one out of an SX then you can directly upgrade to the newer 10.5" suspension. If you're using a 97 Vmax-4 skid (which is the long travel one) then thats as good as it gets without switching brands or fitting in a Mono-Shock.

I might have the short travel one. Is there a way to tell other than mesuring the travel? I wouyd have to get a heavy weight to sit on it to bottom it out to see what the travel is. Or is there some part on it I can mesure to see what the travl is?

Square. I got a new project for next summer. Now I have to find a 10.5 Proaction suspension. Any one have one?

I mesured from the top axle down to the rubber stoppers on the rails and it's 6.5 inches. I assume thats not the long travel. Am I right? Is there a new componant I can buy to make the proaction suspension the longer travel one? Is there some modification I can do? What are the diferences between the proaction and the long travel proaction? How can I get 10.5 inches of travel???

I think you need new shocks and limiter straps.

I just installed a pro action skid in my V4. Ass end is pretty high. What do I do to get the track on the ground in the rear. It's off the ground a 1.5"

VMAX535, that looks like a viper skid to me, that is the long travel one 10.5"

To get the rear of the track on the ground you need to pull in the limiter straps on the front, pull them in until the back just barely sits off the ground with no weight and it sits flat when you sit on it.

Hey man, that looks great.

I'd say any other adjustments will have to wait until after your ride it.

Nice install.

Figure I'll run and stretch the track then pick it. HHMMMM. 96, 144, 192 I think I'll have lots of traction on the trail with ony 96 and the ripsaw. How about the ice?

LOL, Nice illustration

IMO, running less than 144 studs really puts you in danger of tear-outs. If it were mine I'd run 144 down the center, but again, just my opinion.
