SRXCAN keep in mind that Turbo Kit on Amsnow.com is a Series 60 Turbo, not Series 66.
This was the first turbo style Greg Bennett used for testing at First Choice Turbo on the Vmax-4 back in '92 or '93. The Series 60 Turbo was slightly larger than the Series 53 143-300A Turbo. I believe that it was good for up to 12 pounds of boost, but had slower spool up. That is why Aerodyne gave Greg a prototype smaller Series 53 Turbo to try on the Vmax-4.
The Series 53 gave instant spool up over the 60 and was quoted to be a perfect match. The Series 60 looks almost identical to the Series 66 and most guys can't tell the difference. One of the main differences is the trim size in the turbo, even the Series 66 had 3 different trim sizes available which effected boost psi. The guy on Amsnow has it advertised as 250+ h.p. on pump fuel, I'd like to see how long that would last before detonation rears its nasty head. Just food for your thought!!!

I was seriously talking with Aerodyne when they were still in business a few years ago. They quoted me $4500.00 US for a series 66 with the setup for a vmax4 800. Problem was they weren't gonna have any more produced until spring. I thought that was strange but who knows. By spring they weren't answering the phone and had gone out of business. In 2005, Hypertech turbo systems in Texas aquired the non-exclusive rights to produce the Areocharger from Aerodyne. They were concentrating on some automotive applications first but were confident that they would be producing units for recreational vehicles soon. I haven't checked back since. The series 66 made 351hp on a 1000 T-Cat at 18lbs boost on race gas. 324 hp on a Mach-Z and the 800 V-Max was right around 325hp. These were stock engines with a turbo bolted on and jetted accordingly with race gas.
Just a bit of info from my archives.

This is very interesting. I talk on and off over the past 3 years with Jim Szekela who was once part owner of First Choice Turbos with Sean Ray. In my talks with him they never did a fitting or dyno testing with an Aerodyne Series 66 on a Vmax-4. They tested with a Series 60 and with the 143N-250/300A. Also when I built my Series 66 turbo, Steve Packard had never indexed a Series 66 Turbo for fitting a Vmax-4 chassis and had no blueprints for doing this application. (He aquired many blueprints for using Aerodyne Turbo's on sleds). He had to do quite quite alot of machining to make the controller fit the chassis and be able to open the vains without binding.
In addition by February of 2001, First Choice Turbo no-longer carried any parts to complete a Turbo setup on a Vmax-4. They had considered this old school 6 years ago (2001). They had a few left over fuel logs and misc. airboxes and would not reproduce.
Also I remember a Sno Tech or Snow Trax magazine from 2000 or 2001 where they did a Turbo article about the Mach Z and Thundercat 1000. The 300+ h.p. numbers were theory and were what possibly could be expected with different changes. The problem with case reed inducted engines i.e. Mach Z and Thundercat is that they were not turbo friendly engines due to the port design and air intake design being a case reed inducted engine these "old" style case reed tripple engines were good for about 4-6 pounds of boost before problems began. This is why you never sean any 300+ h.p. Turbo T-Cats and Mach Z's running around.
I can speak on this with experience as my Dad still owns a '95 Thundercat with a Turbo Kit he built himself over 1-year. Same problem, with 6 pounds of boost engine was not appreciating this....so it was rolled back to 4 pounds, excellent for trails and mountains with about 180 h.p. over the stock 160.
Here is a great example of what I am talking about. Bender Racing was building a new turbo kit for the 1000cc Mach Z twin at the time of closing. They were adverising that the kit should make 300+ h.p. and closer to maybe 320. They were confident with the new knock sensor that this would be the most perfect turbo setup on a 2-stroke. Well, as testing went on reality came into play and they settled on numbers around 260-265.
Just thought I'd throw that info. out for you and Sorry to SRXCAN for hi-jacking his thread! Also thought I should add I'm not trying to start any problems with my post, just elabrating on Ians post.

Just thought I'd update things here. First off, I hadn't read Quadzillas reply to my post. Your information is probably correct. I was just going from what the guy who answered the phone at Aerodyne in 02 said. He told me he was sure they could piece together a kit for the vmax4 from stuff on the shelf. Chances are he was lying. The hp numbers for thew MachZ and TCat came from their website as actual dyno numbers and the numbers for the vmax4 were estimates from this same guy. Once again, sounds like lies.
On a better note, hypertech from Texas figures they'll be releasing new production series 66000 aerochargers in early 08. I haven't heard a price yet but this is good news for people who want to get a hold of one of these units and can't find one for sale.
I just googled aerocharger and clicked the hypertech 2.0 link. Hopefully the company will survive this time.
