OK so thanks again for helping me get my new-to-me 92 running pretty well. I still have to straighten out the choke bell crank arm so it doesn't slip off sometimes but it's starting like a champ on the second pull every time.

So the track on this machine appears to be in very good shape. Very little wear and still pliable and dark black, not sun bleached.

The problem is that when I was trying to reload it on the single-place-trailer-of-death, I appear to have partially torn one of the lugs on the far right hand side of the track off. It's still connected but hanging loose :cussing:

There is a bar through the whole track that appears to have the end partially removed by this lug as well. The inside looks almost like wood or plastic of some kind. It's just the one lug.

I think it's probably fine to ride like this but want to double check and make sure there are not any problems with riding this like this? Do I remove the one lug carefully with a knife? Leave it like it is?

The rods are fiberglass and the track is shot.

:agree: I wouldn't risk a track explosion at high speed that could/would hurt you or damage your sled. Post us a picture if you can, but that track is probably only good for riding around the back yard.

Yeah A pic would speak a 1000 words..
as far as the lug, I`ve heard of guys having good sucess with a type of glue called lexon 80, there are two forms, cant remember which was said to be best, think it was the gell form??
anyway, if you can, get a close up pic, and post..

Like everyone else said, I wouldn't take the chance of running a partial torn track. The '92 tracks were notorious for being weak and very stretchy. I have seen a track come off on a no shield warm up stand and wipe the guy out standing 20 feet behind the sled, needless to say he was airlifted to the hospital. Hate to see anybody have the same experience, little lone riding the sled and having it come off!

OK I'll get a picture of it in a few minutes. I will also get a picture of the sled cause I think this might have a long track. It looks longer than a 121
