they did not come with electric start.
the 94 has 140 hp stock,
you can put pipes on for a big jump in hp and arm length while you hold on.
vmax4's are a decent sled. for 11 years old it should keep up with the new sleds.
the power is smooth like a v8 engine
yea, i think you will become a yami guy!
sounds not to bad. ask what went into the engine when it was rebuilt.
if they reused the pistons then you know they went low buck rebuild on it.

When you hear that V-MAX4 running your hart will start to race.
When you hammer the throtle down the lake you will feel the rush.
When you ride down the trails you will get thumbs up from other sledders!
Owning a Yamaha V-Max4, 2 stroke, 4 cylinder sled will put you in a class of its own.

Just keep in mind, if you are looking for a sled to puond around on rough trails you will not like it. If you ride groomed trails and lake, you'll love it the V4. There is nothing like it and only thing even close are the new Yamahas. Yamaha will give you the best built sled on the market, you just need to chose the right sled for your riding intentions. That sled sounds like it is setup to run lakes only (ice picks)...Blue

Yes that's the truth RedWhiteandBlue! Can't beat the smooth ride full out on the lakes.
It's snowing just up north from me hope to see some white stuff soon.

it has pipes on it, it has quad psi pipes, i did buy it, it sounded like crap when i started it, it was choking and puking all over, so i went and bought new plugs and put in fresh fuel, i pulled about half the cord and it came to life, they said my heart would pound and with those pipes it jumped out of my chest. if this sled rides and runs like you all say, yes i think i will become a yamiguy.

lol i love mine and have never ridden a trail!
tors is a system that if your carbs get fozen open on a lake run or say a squirrel stuffed a pine cone in your air box and it got stuck under the carb slides it will shut your engine down below engagement rpm so you dont go for a wild ride.

Yup/ If your tors doesen't work, when the emt's find you, the only sign of what really happened is when they see they stains in your underware.
A sled with TORS, the throttle will be able to move up and a down. A VERY LITTLE THOUGH. If it's really loose, you better get that checked out.

Got the first snow started it up hit the gas and nothing i couldnt get it to go over 60.after some help on this board found out the carbs where dirty.i ended up taking them off 3 times before i got them cleaned the right way.

Alright guys, and gals out there, with your info i did purchase the v-4, now my brother came up from iowa for turkey day and we got about 2 inches of snow last night, so about 11 this morning we went out to the garage and fired that beast up, boy did it sound good, now this is the first time i have moved this sled with snow, i slowly went around the house, pulled out into the yard and stoped!!!! so i dropped the hammer and those skies came up off the ground and i slid to the back of the seat with outstreached arms and felt like i was flying, i about sh*t myself when i felt the power of this thing!!!! now i know it was only 2 inches of snow and my wife is pissed that i tore the hell out of the yard, but i now have a bbaaaaddddd itch for more snow and the lake to freeze. i am blowen away by the knowlege i see on this fourm as it is about as powerful as my v-4.
thank you all for the info to put me on an amazing machine.

Welcom aborde Rick,
So you had your first expirience with the big max around the house, and the snow was fluffy. Oh boy your in for even a bigger supprise when you trye it on a hard packed freshlly groomed trail, the big max really comes alive at about 45MPH (70Km/h) and stay like that right to the end, where the speedo needel has gone all the way around.
Hear at Vmax-4.com consider use as a realy big family, we all share the same pashione, people like Yami (3:16), Red, Racer, Shark, Busted , Ken, Ruls, Rdl, Al p, Gate, Godder, Jersy, Ike, team Rodrunner & Vrodlisa and thats just to name a few, that have tryed and tested there thiories with great sucsess to boot, what separats this board from the whole world is we share good information to help each other nomater where you live.
Happy ridding with your new Big Max.

Rick, that is just like me last winter when rode my V4 the first time!
I picked it up from my dealer. They did full service to it. It was part of the deal what I made with him. Anyway, I took it from the dealers , and rode it to the local lake. Just slowly at trail, just to ride home. After a while I came to this looong strecht of open space, and I pinned it. Well, the feeling was probably just like in the space shuttle. UNREAL!!! My late -00 Phazer Mountainlite had nothing to this beast!! LOL
Canīt wait for decent snow!!!!

Rick,
As Ike had said, That is how I felt when I took my wifes VMax-4 ride for the first time. Then I had to get one, which I hope is all done very soon!
The newest sleds we had were a SX600 and a XTC 600 in 97. When I hopped on her sled and took off, I WAS SHOCKED. I just hope to enjoy mine this year, at least one day.
Enjoy!!

i tell people that the vmax4 is like driving a classic muscle car. the ride and handling are not top notch but the look and feel when you hold the hammer down are like no other sled.
