chaincase question on 79 srx

hello everyone , i happen to notice a small hole between the filler plug and the oil vent tube on my sled . Is there a oil level screw missing there since its a open small hole on the chaincase ? :cussing:

DUDE, YES. THATS A BLEEDER SCREW. YOUR SUPPOSE TOO ADD FLUID UNTIL STARTS TOO FLOW OUT. 3:16 (tony)

But then am i missing the screw part that fits in the hole or is it always open to possibly let oil out ? My service manual dont have a good picture of this . Thanks .

YOUR MISSING THE SCREW. I, WILL CHECK MY 79 SRX JUST TOO BE SHURE, AGAIN THAT ACTS AS A DRAIN, AND THAN A FILLER LEVEL. REMEBER THAT SCREW IS METRIC IF YA GO TO HARDWARE STORE. I DOUBT DEALER WOULD KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT. 3:16 (tony)
