Tony,
Things are great here in the U.P. I don't miss Oregon one bit. I have an awesome job and the family settled in real nice. I just have been concentrating on work so much, there was not much play time. That's about to change!
We'll give it a shot here on my first ice race. I have not tuned for this elevation other than jetting. I have no idea how fast it should go if she hooks. Were doing 800ft and 1000ft depending on the safety factor of the shutdown area. Where do you think it should run? Any pointers?

It ran like crap. Kids were following me making snow cones out of the ice shavings. It never got traction until 2/3rds down the track. I'm going to light it on fire and collect the insurance money. Fastest of the day was 135.7 in 800 ft. Mod Polaris.

did you play with the transfer rods in between runs? I see in your signature you have the adjustable ones and with the amount of studs you say you are running it sounds to me like you are'nt transferring one bit.

We always check off stuff like the limiter strap, quick rods, and adjust the track tension. This is the very first time I ever ran on ice. The problem is that I took out my 1-3/8" studs and installed 1-1/8" in thier place. I had problems trail riding it back in Oregon with the longer studs. Anyway, I tested this morning on about 2" of fluffy powder and grass beneth that. I hit the throttle and it shot like a bullet out of a rifle and threw my ars off. The studs were working on that, but not enough bite on ice. I was told by a dork that the 1-1/8" would work fine. Don't worry, I'll get this flatland stuff down.
There were hundreds of sleds and we had the only V-Max 4 out there. That was kinda cool. Everyone was coming up and wanting to look under the hood.
The sled is in almost mint condition and from what you guys have told me, they didn't manufacture a whole lot of '97 ST's. ( Does any member here have one?) I won't burn her just yet. Hey! I bought a really cool '01 SXR with a Echolm 144" tunnel, dropped and rolled chaincase this summer. I thought it would be a great boondocking sled in the deep powder of the U.P. Not enough snow to try it out yet.

with a 136 that thing should hook like a mother, play with those rods. Tony you canprobably help with this one but I know you can remove a nylon spacer in those rods (Ithink the bottom one?) and it will transfer even more.
