I will order some head gaskets tomorrow and I noticed part# 712202 for the top end set, is the same for 92,93,94. I thought there were thicker/thinner from 93 on?

Can someone help me find the right part numbers to order?

Thanks

ps...will any other mods be needed with the different head gasket?

I take it that is a part number for aftermarket gaskets?

Stick with OEM gaskets. The 92 was 3-layers of metal, the 93/94 was 2-layers of metal. They changed to 2-layers to regain some of the compression lost when they raised the ports in 93.

You shouldn't have any issues if you want to run a 93/94 gasket on an otherwise stock 92. You will tighten your squish by about .010" and probably gain about 10 lbs of compression. To be safe I'd run premium fuel.

The part numbers are available on on-line microfiche or on Yamaha's web site.
