I own the 96 Vmax4 MM and was wondering if there are upgrades to the existing Mikuni Carbs? is there a modified or different vendor that makes the vmax more efficient?
thanks

Do you mean more fuel efficient ? If thats the question, NO. These are not easy on fuel.

Ya, i know they arent GEO metros of sleds but is the stock carbs the tried and true way of going? or are there aftermarket carbs that add a little horse or fuel mileage?

No gain in fuel mileage or power with bigger or aftermarket carbs.
If you're looking for a little better mileage, do a search here for Tempa Flow.
I have one on my 92 and get about 10 MPG. Here is the website for the manufacturer.http://www.holtzmaneng.com/
You could also look on that site about the Vari Flow or the ATACC, but the Tempa Flow is fully automatic. Theres alot of good reading on Holtzmans site.
Hope this helps.
