PROJECT: The Back From The Dead V-Max4!!!

Here's the big plan:

Okay, here is what I have been doing this past year. The plan is to get a frame of a non running V-4 and bring it back to life again. I have been picking up a few parts here and there to do this. I really want this cool idea to come together and I know it will take alot of time and patience and maybe years to make it happen.

Why do this:

I don't want a new sled. I don't have the money to get one and would rather have the satisfaction of building one from the ground up. Can you imagine the first ride on a sled that you have put in long hours to get running again? And it being a V-4 means all that much more to me. I like working on them as much as riding. I had alot of help from members with my 1993 and thank you all for the great tips.

I have all that I need here to make this a successful project. Having great friends here for help accessing hard to find items will surely work in my favour. Also, I know I can get quality service for things such as part reconditioning from our great sponsers.


Help from Members:

Just something you all might want to know. I sell hats, toques, and patches for the site to help Dean out with the cost of keeping this site alive. When you guys wear the vmax4.com name it ends up helping me in the long run. More people see it, check it out, and become members. looks like if we put are parts together we would have a complete sled lol i need track,cylinders,heads i am on my second ground up v-max 4 i even have a 3rd chassis if ever feel the need to build a 3rd one good luck it is a lot of satisfaction when complete

Okay had a few minutes to take it all in. You are an awsome guy Skinner! I don't know how I can ever repay you. Wife is not working right now so this really helps me financially. Going to finish the Mountain max I am geting from skinner. Doug I did not expect anything like this from members this has been like a dream to me. Any parts big or small that you might have I will gladly install on this sled since there are a few nuts and bolts in putting a sled back togheter that from scatch. Having all these parts from members on this sled will make it so special I will be forever gratefull. And will post the whole build with the use of my digital camera for all members to see a ground up restoration from nothing.

Hey skinner, I do still need a seat, but the "ole lady`s sled project" has drained me of any extra money at the moment. I`ve ran into ALOT more things that need to be fixed on her sled, than i could ever of imagined:banghead: and to top it off, i may be doing all this work for nothing, because she just had shoulder surjury and has to wear a sling for atleast the next 6 weeks, so who knows if she`ll even get the okay to ride this year at all. dont get me wrong, her healing is more important than riding, but it is a little agravating to have already spent a few hundred dollars on her sled, when i could have put that money into my vmax and probley had a nice seat and maybe a few other goodie`s. ohh well, atleast I`ll have it all fixed up for my bro to ride incase he dont get his going.

Here's the list on whats happening...

-Tunnel is still getting sanded to get that awesome Aluminum shine. I will add a photo as soon as its perfect.

-Engine Bulkhead still in welding stages, been so busy with work and family have not gotten it all finished. But soon will be done.

-Lots of small parts being cleaned and shined to look new again.

-Will have the clutch guard done soon. It needs to look as good as the tunnel.

-I'll be getting more parts from members in the next comming weeks will post photos when I receive them for the mail.
