View Full Version : Windshield clips for the 11 bolts?

Anyone know where I can find the clips that have a nut on them that hold the windshield on.

Yamaha wants almost $6 a piece....I need 7 of these.

I wonder if autozone sells stuff like this....

any ideas welcomened.

I would think that a auto parts store that supplies body shops with parts should have something similiar.

The Vmax-4 assembly manual calls them "nut springs". Considering the Japanese to English translation, that's probably "spring nuts".

Clip Nuts? I haven't looked on my sled to see what they look like, but if they look like the attached pictures. This site lists them as Clip Nuts. They list them for about $1 a piece. Not sure if they sell to the public, just the first site I found with what I imagine the clips look like.

They show on my parts computer (OEM) as $2.60 CAD..should be about $1.85-$2.00 USD....

I just looked them up on Port Yamaha's online fiche......

#3 NUT 89A-77144-00-00 11 $5.02


Looks like all 11 are only $5.02 ...

I haven't looked at my sled yet, so I don't know what the nuts look like exactly, but here are some links to clip nuts for self tapping screws from JC Whitney. They use these J-clips and U-clips in automotive applications all the time.

found them at autozone.

Thanks for the help...new windshield looks great, will post picks soon of sled.....

all ready to go for this next winter
