Can the 92 Vmax4 secondary be converted to a roller secondary? If so How?

I don't know of one made specifically for the Vmax4 and there are alot of roller secondary on the market. Pioneer makes a composite roller for 95 or newer with the YVXC clutch. They are about $280.00

Is there a big difference in trail performance with a roler secondaty?

You know there are a lot of comments about rollers, for me I had one on a 97 SX 700. Quick sled and fast for the weight, I added a roller to it and the back shift and up shift was great. All my riding is trail, unimproved that is, and loved the roller. If I had the money I would invest again. For the short run, off and on again, needing to make those quick turns then that sprint just to slow down again,,,the roller was the ticket that worked well for me.

You are pretty limited with what you can do with the 92 clutch. It is not a very efficient clutch and has very few tuning parts available.
A nice upgrade is a switch to an arctic cat secondary clutch.Tuning parts are cheap and endless for them. You have to either machine your secondary shaft to fit the arctic clutch or find a shaft that is already done.

Polaris will work. You still have to machine the shaft and parts are more pricy.

So if I put an arctic cat secondary on it I would just have to machine the shaft and then alighn the clutches properly? Is the diamiter of the clutch different? Would I have to get a different belt? Has any one done this? Do you have pictures? That would help alot.

The center to center distance is different when using a A/C secondary, stock belt is retained.
