Anyone an expert on stator plate coil output?

All I can tell you is that you need only test resistance to see if a charging coil is in working condition. Chased a problem with one once that ended up just being a connector, check them closely!...Blue

Thanks Blue. I don't know if you are familiar with Yamahas coil testing equiptment. I have a Yamaha ignition coil tester. It reads 85 on the low scale, 0 on the high scale. I believe the charge(source) coil is suppose to be tested on the high scale. I believe it should read at least 70 on the high scale. This leads me to believe that the charge coil is defective. On the other hand, the ohms reading through the charge coil reads 2.1, which according to Yamaha, is perfect. Hence my dilema. Whatcha think?
