I'm meeting Tony at 5PM Today and going to pick up the Sled.
Can't wait. Hope to post pictures Tomorrow.
I got a call back from Mark Forte. Nice guy. I talked to him for about 45 minutes. He had alot of stories to tell about the older sleds(81 SRX).
Doesn't look good for getting my pipes back. It's a long story that someday I will tell.
Anyways, hope to get to talk to him again sometime soon.
Updates to come.

Jim attacked the hood with a holesaw when he discovered he had 190 Deg underhood temps. I'll be looking for a NOS or Excellent hood and nosecone.

Sad Story. First it's funny to watch grown men scream like school girls when they see a 16 inch snake. But Jim's garage is full of snakes.
How about spending $15 Grand on a new 1990 Blue Exciter LE with electric start and hot grips,Bender wide front end,fox shocks,Jackshaft to except new Polaris front and rear clutches, 854 Avalanche ported to Terminator specs with Bender pipes to match. Go To Colorado to IRS Fuel injection to put their 48mm injection system on it. Burn 50gal of race gas to dial it in and map the system. Run the sled and find out the Stock Exciter track is like a rubber band under the power of the 169 HP 854. So off to Yamaha again to get a new 92 Vmax4 track to handle the power. You get 239 miles on the sled dailing it in and Winter ends. You loan out your pipes to help a friend, never to see them again. The sled spends the next 15 years in your garage collecting dust. Very Sad indeed.

That thing is very cool ! One of my favorite sleds was my 93 exciter, it was awesome in the woods and the rear suspension rode better than my 94 and 95 VMAX. The only complaint I had were the handle bars, very narrow. That sled will make everyone smile. I am very jealous !

There was a guy at this years World's fastest trail sled race in Cedarville with a 700 cat engine in an Exciter that was a riot to watch and suprised a lot of people , 165hp you will have fun fun fun !

Thanks Mark

You have to let us know how it feels on the track. 169 hp is way more what I expect from my Exciter race engines 130 hp. And I try beat some new sleds with it on waterX dragrace.

You must also measure sleds weight, is it heavier than stock.

SJ, I'd guess the sled is about 50lb heavier than a stock 570 Exciter.
Jim, the Ski Doo in the picture is a mint 69 669 TNT. Twin Larry Rugland Open Expansion Chambers with over/under HD Tillotson carbs.
In the next month or so I hope to start on my 1970 292 Blizzard.

That sure is a different setup for carbs on your TNT. Don't recall hearing of that engine size either, not that I'm any kind of authority. I remember sometime in the early 70's when I was riding a 371/e Nordic, there were a couple boys from my home town had a pair of 775 TNT's with the side by side twin carbs.
All that power on an 18" rubber track.:muahaha:

need any parts for the tnts? lol i got about 4 sleds worth of parts here

94max
06-27-2007, 10:48 PM
4with4, if you look on page 2 there is a picture of the Avalanche outside and you can see my 71 775 TnT with a clutch laying on the running board. I'm going to use that as a rider this winter.

Busted Max, I could use a good used crank out of a 71 or 72 292 TNTSingle cylinder. The 70 292 crank won't work. 3/4 shafts verus 7/8 on the 71 and 2.
