I got my Vmax from the company I work in. It was in a very bad condition, good parts were engine, headlight, track, steering post.
- Hood cracked, repaired with plywood and screws
- sidepanels cracked
- nosecone ripped in almost two
- seat torn, repaired with ducktape
- primary- and secondary, everything totally worn out
- exhaust pipe had a big dent and cracks all over
- Y-pipe cracked and seating for pipe ripped off
- front bumper ripped off and was hanging
- hyfax's almost worn through
- no windshield
- no grips
- skis bent, broken
- recoil broken
- brake pads worn out, almost metal-to-metal
- choke lever was gone
- track drive bearings worn out
- parts missing from carburator and chaincase(spacers, bolts)
- airbox had a big crack
- chaincase seating had cracks
- left side running board bent
+ many other minor problems
So far done:
- everything above repaired or fixed as good as possible
- selfmade hood, FRP, still need a bit attention
Has got:
- GYT-R-twin pipes
- Simmons Flexi-Skis
- 2" handlebar riser
Still needs:
- grips
- windshield
- gasoline

Comming along great Sami:urock:
Too bad you live on the other side of the world. I would have loved to give you a hand fixing that baby up. Keep up the great work and don't be shy with the photos ;)

Today ordered black low windshield a'la Vmax4 and grips along with few smaller parts. Then it should be ready for the winter, next summer go through the engine, skid and front suspension and try to find better side panels.
And RDL 93 V-MAX4, you made your skid too good, how am I supposed to beat that next summer? Gold plated rails, dip everything in chrome?

It's alive, ALIVE!! I finally started the engine and wow!, the sound of the twin-pipes is just great! First I tought that they were leaking somewhere but it was just the sound of the pipes. A sharp sound from the pipes and a low rumble from the silencer, excellent! :i_need_sn

I painted the hood, black of course. It needs also a few layers of clear coat but I run out of time today but the result so far is quite OK. Still waiting for parts from Yamaha...

Well, it's been a while since I worked my sled, the paint setteled and it need few layers of clear coat still, doesn't shine that much, also some stickers would do nice, now it looks too black.
Didn't ride it either, I left the work as a snowmobile guide(one month without vacations and still boss was complaining so I blew a gasket in my head and opened up a bit :) ) and didn't have the opportunity to ride it anypalce and also the spirit went away for awhile...But I took it for a quick spin a the local road and everything seemed to work fine, the sound was VERY loud, echoing between the houses :)
This summer I'll finish the body up and also it seems to leak a bit oil from the chain case drain bolt.
