Looking for gears but as we all know they aren't very common. Anyone know where to get them?

I have never seen any A/M company offer gears for the Vmax-4.

i got some mpi gears for my 600 this year. turns out my local dealer had connections to them and got me a set for less than half the price of a stock set with chain.

worth the money.

You can get aftermarket for anything BUT a 4. Only thing close are 15 wides and then the offsets and spline/diameters are different. Close, but not the same. I would not put an aftermarket chain on my 4, no way in hell. The OEM is a much heavier, better built item by far (what does a new case cost!). Yamaha OEM, post what you are looking for. Someone may have the gear you want...Blue

What year V-4 you looking to gear? Remember the 1992's were just for the 92's (a bastard year), the 93-94's are the same, then 95-97's are different.
Micro Engineering in Grand Rapids (I'm very close to them) may have them. They do not for the 1992. They might very well for the newer V-4 years. Prices are better than Yamaha (not much) but some, and Micro makes some good stuff. There number is (616) 534-9681. Gary is the man to talk to. Ask for parts. Last I tried Bender didn't have much left for the 92.

Another thought is Nelsons Speed Shop. There site is Nelsonsspeedshop.com
and go to there OEM Parts section. Nelsons always has the best prices on OEM Yamaha stuff that I have found.

I will have a 39 tooth and a 70 Link chain for sale in a month or so for a 92 V-4.

Good luck dude.:muahaha:

GARY AT MICRO BELMONT NEVER MADE ANY GEARS FOR THE VMAX 4. HE TOLD ME GETS ALOT OF CALLS FOR THEM AND WHISHED HE DID BECAUSE VMAX 4,s BECAME POPULAR TAR SLEDS. DUDE, GO TO YAMAHA AND GET WHAT YA WANT OR CHECK WITH YAMAHA DEALERS AROUND YOUR AREA, MAYBE HAVE IT IN STOCK AND WILL DEAL. !! 3:16 (tony)

3:16 I agree with you just making conversation and brainstorming about what gearing to use. My dealer is pretty good to me and any money says the factory ones are within 15-20 bucks of an aftermarket one anyway!

Tonys Right, talked to Erlandson Performance and yamajeffs buddy at Micro Engineering. If we could get orders of 25 for each different gear, he could make the top for $60.00 , $80.00 bottom. I'm not sure theres 25 max-4s left.
