Dudes
Back in the 80's we would never touch wiesco pistons unless they were for vintage. Back then vintage was 1960 -1975 stuff. If you have any meat under your hood stay away from wiesco. Bender use to display WIESCO on his sled, but he use to put them on a stringer on a end of his rope to anchor his boat.:fishing:
OMO and recolection.

yeah I have heard mixed reviews....but I have runn wiseco's in my
srv since 1998 with not one burn down and still running strong, 6 years aint bad for one set of pistons (wiseco) as well I use wiseco in my RZ420. Anyhow I think 65.25mm would be .040???
yes so these would be .040 over pistons????
.25mm is equall to .010, so they would be .010 over.

Guy's,
Like I said if you run them in a stock FC low comp. sled. Well ok. They are weak once the comp. gets above 145lbs and in a LC where toleranceance are closer the have problems and almost disintergrate above 160lbs. This is only my race opinion. If your bangin some ditches they are questionably OK.

Wiesco does make 800 piston but there ungodly expensive (160.00) ea. but does not advertize it, you have to get them from some one who deals with them alot!!

I have to politely disagree with anyone bashing Weisco pistons. I have heard that they had they're problems years ago but not anymore. I know they get a bad rap because of people who don't warm their sleds up before they go racin. Guys gotta remember that forged pistons expand farther than cast ones so they have to fit slightly looser in a cold bore which will make them slighty more prone to cold seizing but only by people who don't warm their sleds up!
I have Weiscos in a motor thats at 155 psi and spins over 10,000, when I put that motor together every builder I talked to said don't put anything but Weiscos in it!

Very, VERY few people even seen a engine problem caused by a piston stock or aftermarket. I have seen two, 1 was a honda 250R piston. The other was a stock yamaha 600 twin. Both had broken the skirts. All the rest I have replaced for people and myself are because of the owner, fuel, jetting, snow, studs, seals, timing....
Every turbo sled that I setup has Wiseco pistons installed first thing. And they all run 10lbs of boost or more.
The SK1174 is a 65.25mm .010 over kit that makes it a 795cc
Stock is 65mm 789cc piston # 2360PS

Nope, for the Vmax 800 with 18mm wrist pins it's:
SK1174 for 795cc = 65.25mm or .010 over stock
The Vmax 750 with 16mm wrist pins:
SK1171 for 795cc = 65.25 or .090 over stock

Hey Toydoc you seem to know a fair bit about wiseco's, I am just wondering if you could confirm that the wiseco part # is a .010 piston. If I do use oversize pistons will I have to simply rebore...or are the 800 cylinders nicasil linned???
Thanks in advance Toydoc!

I know your asking toydoc this question, but while your waiting for him to reply on the piston numbers ect. i`ll go ahead and let you know that the cylinders ARE nicasal plated.

For the Vmax800 a .010 wiseco piston is #2360P1.
Yep.. Like Al said. I had four cyl's done for $125~150 each.

Ok great, thanks Al and Todoc, I was going to buy a complete set of .010 wiseco's for my spare 800 motor, but seeing as I only have 1 cylinder right now, I will wait till I buy them and probably stick with stock bore as it will save on costs.....thanks again guys!!!
