OK today I am starting on my spun crank job is there anything to be careful of or look out for when pulling the engine? Also after I get it out would it be appropriate to spray degreaser on it and hose it off to clean it up? Thanks, I'll be heading out to my unheated garage now.

shouldn,t you steam clean it before you start to take it out? that way less mess to deal with.just tape over the timing window. thats what i would do

Thanks i got it out today and decided to clean it up with brake fluid and gasoline. I need to find a puller now to get the clutch off.

I wouldn't suggest using brake fluid, it's pretty hard on painted surfaces and probably on some plastics too.

I don't know why I said brake fluid what I meant to say was brake cleaner.
