took the max down the street a few times to check out new skid(rx-1) rides like a cadilac!!! was worried about track rubbing but now its racheting!! put it on stand adjusted track(20# @1") still doing it but it seems not as bad.what should i do??? one of the reasons i changed track(ripsaw1.25) and suspension was it was racheting real bad before upgrade.. track was worn and frayed in spots so i upgraded bigtime. when i swapped skids i also replaced bearings(spedo.pillow block)chaincase seemed ok. drivers also looked ok. not that i know whats ok!!!what should i do??????? any help greatly appreciated! also seems like racheting only happens at slow speeds. thanks pete

Could try snugging it up some more 22 @ 1,but watch hyfax wear...
Yeah..may have to go a bit tighter..
Mine still slipped at the stock recomendation, so I just tightened the bolts a half a turn at a time until it quit..

Funny this should come up. I went for a ride the other day and mine started to "rachet". I came home and tightened it up, took it for a test drive and everything worked fine. Today it started up again, so I tightened up the left, then went to tighten the right and realized the outside idler wheel was GONE. No wonder it was acting up. It took the wheel and the bearing. I dug around in the snow tonight and found an old suspension and idler wheel. Hopefully I can make it work. Good luck getting yours up and running properly!!!! IF IT AINT BROKE, I'LL WORK ON IT ANYWAY!!!!!!

Put on some extrovert drivers .You can run a looser track and free up some horsepower. Worked great for me. I never had any racheting problems with the stock skid but when i put on a modern suspension with lots of travel i had the same problem.
