What is the easiest way to change the rear shock? Do you guys think it is worth putting a used one on or buying new? Thanks--92 Vmax-4 stock

Myself I would buy new if you plan on keeping the sled for a little while longer 'cause with the used one you will have no idea how long it will live so i would just buy new and bite the bullet but they definitly aren't cheap.

I would try and find a used "rebuildable" one myself, I have only replaced mine while the skid was out of the sled.

I just changed mine two days ago. It wasn't bad, but make sure you drop your suspension for this. It makes it so much easier. The shock(s) I put in actually came off my v4. I have a 94 600 skid in my V4 so I had the original suspension just layin around. The shocks look identical and Bolted in in minutes.

These guys on here are ingenious. The other day one guy said he used racheting tie down straps, looped around the upper shock mount to a bottom shaft. Once the shock(s) are compressed the skid is easy to yank out of the track.
