Happy New Year

Thanks to everyone who helped me get through my spun crank issue earlier. Everything is back together and the big Yamaha is running amazing. I've been reading over old postings on clutching as I will be putting in Yammie Gods setup. Today I was talking with Pat Hauck and ordered the blue spring and 43-37 Helix - I already have the 89A 10 weights in (although I have no idea what rivits are in the weights) so I should be all set. I can hardly wait to try out the new parts! I love everything about this sled it's simply awesome!

Iantomasi

Here in Ontario I wasn't sure where to get my cranks fixed and I was talking with a fellow that used to race them from Stratford who put me on to Iantomasi Track and Trail from Bowmanville Ontario. These guys were great. They work out of small fully equiped shop in the country and know the Vmax4 inside and out. They work on all makes of machines and you won't meet two better guys than the two brothers that own it Flav and Jerry. They charged me $150.00 to do the cranks - about half the price I was quoted from Quebec. I highly recommend giving them a call if you need work done. These guys know engines.

Thanks again

I was wondering how that turned out for you. I bet it feels a little different when you hit the throttle now!!!

I've seen the Iantomasi's grass drag in Frankenmuth and they always did very well. When you find someone who knows their stuff you stick with them, and at half the price, how can you go wrong?

I have found that most local auto parts store have a digital gram scale in house,
just weigh them and subtract the weight of the empty 89A-10 and voila!

BTW: Congrats as well.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CHANGE RIVETS. JUST INSTALL SPRING AND HELIX. LET ME KNOW OUTCOME. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I received my parts today and since there is no snow in Ontario I guess I have lots of time to get everything installed. I talked to Pat Hauck himself on the phone and he thoroughly agreed the helix and blue sping would be great but the helix he sent me is the 42-37 and not the 43-38 which disappointed me a little. Also the 42-37 was written on the outside of the helix in marker and stamped on the end is 38 degrees. It is a Yamaha part and I wonder why Yamaha wouldnt stamp 42-37 on the end? I'm more curious than anything - I'm sure that they would have sent me the right one. Anyway as soon as I can test them out I will and report back how they work and change my weights then if necessary. My spring looks like the short one it's baby blue and is a little beat up for some reason perhaps it's old stock as the paint is scraped off in many spots.

And to Rick yes it's quite the rush squeezing the throttle on 4 cylinders instead of 2!
