Ok, I have an issue and I am hoping somebdy can help...I looked up on Yamaha web site and looks like the 97 800 MM uses the 136 inch proaction suspension...Now, I have a custom made tunnel and have run into cleanace problems with the track hitting the coolers in the rear. (have clearance in front). I used the old mounts off my 95 Vmax4 and am hoping that the newer proaction mounts are longer giving more clearance between tunnel and track back their...I could not find the mounts on the yamaha web site so real no info their....Any body know if the our stock mounts are shorter then the proaction mounts?

When I put the RX-1 skid on my '93 a few years ago I got the ProAction rear suspension brackets for a 2003 RX-1 from the dealer for about $10 apiece. I might even still have the receipt with the part numbers somewhere. These pictures don't show it real well, but the mounting hole is just a little bit lower on the RX-1 brackets compared to the stock mounts, which gives me lots of clearance in the back, even at 235lbs. I'll go out in the barn later and try to get a picture that shows it better. It's important that you keep the relationship between the center shaft and the rear shaft mounting holes, as shown in WildMax's ProAction install pictures, or you could cause the suspension to bind. I know your 136" mountain setup is going to be different from my 121" flatlander setup, but it might give you something to look at. Got any pictures of your mounts?

Mark, that clears it up for me....Thanks!!! Tried to use the stock mounts off the Vmax4 and found that I did not have enough clearance from the track to the tunnel with a 1.25 ripsaw.....That should be just the ticket. Many thanks.

Actually, the only difference between what Mark showed you and your 136" will be that the back mounting holes will be 7 1/2" farther back. I put the skid out of a 97 MM 700 into my 95. I had to space the width out but other than that, it works great.
