I'm working on a buddy's 96 600 V-Max.
It has the DG/Yamaha twin pipes and V-Force reeds.
Does any one have any clutching and jetting tips for this sled with these upgrades?
Does the twin pipe setup require porting? I don't think the sled has had any porting work done on it.

Are they DG or Yamaha GYT twins? I have the specs for the GYT pipes somewhere. You don't need any porting work done but you will need to make changes to your jetting and the primary clutch requires a different spring.

They are the Yamaha GYT twins.

You want to handle this one Chris? Other wise I have the same setup on my '95-600. I just got back today from a 70 mile ride after lowering the needle one more time and it was great!

Go to this link. http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19595 See post number 4, it includes page scans of the Yamaha GYT tuning bulletin from 1996. This was my starting point I still had some adjusting to do to get my sled tuned perfectly for my riding style and temps, but this will get ya started.

Glad to hear you got yours running great now too. Lowering the needle is what made the difference for me too.
