Looks like we may get some good snow amounts in the next 24 hours!!
I just spent the last few hours getting the ole polaris 500 ready, and my vmax4..
just did the basic check up stuff, IE checked the oil, various nuts and bolts, plus I scuffed up my clutch a bit, and belt, lubed my clutches (with dry silicon spray, rollers, wieghts, and secondary helix ramps, shafts ect..figured I better add this in here, before someone thinks I may have lubed the sheaves..LOL).. and had to fix the carbides on the polaris..my bro brian managed to bend both of them pretty bad last time out..
it was my fault really though..I could`nt find any decent carbide runners for an old 1980 polaris, so i got some that were a bit short, so the front of them, where they go through the slot in the skis, was barley reaching the slot in the skis....so a couple of curbs later..LOL
Anyway, I just cut up an old none carbide runner, and welded a couple short pieces on the ends of the good runners, to extend them farthur in the ski slots...

I have the feeling there`s gonna be a few guys out and about around these parts tomaro..usually is when its been dry for a bit, and we get a good one...just want to be prepared incase I run someone..LOL

Be safe out there guys!!

AL

P.S....IF..I happen to notice an odd color in the snow..I will not be test tasteing..LOL

What a joke..I hate the weather people!!!
I shoulda known better...yesterday, pretty much ALL the local channels, including the weather channel, were talking 3 to 5 inches last night, and another 3 to 5 inches today..I doubt we have two inches right now, and it looks like its already tapering off..:cussing:

I hear ya vmax4rules..and daman..you got that right..they claimed a MINIMAL of 6 inches, and said most likely, it would be closer to 10..(around here anyway..)

its not like they`ve never been wrong before..but, I watched several differant channels, and all of them said it was gonna be a big one..

We have a foot plus on the ground but if there were not three thaws already we would be pushing three feet.

Just imagine how much we would have if the doppler dart throwers had a clue!

It's all about the ratings! You tuned in to the news just to see what the weather forecast was!

Last week the news started out with a big weather report that we were going to get 6 inches of snow, blah, blah, blah. He had the old Doppler radar up explaining how this thing was going to come together and that we were going to get all this snow. They went to the regular news and 15 minutes later they get back to the weather guy and the message is that the national weather service cancelled the weather bulletin so now the forecast is just a dusting. They should not be called meteorologists, because all they are is Parrots that read the national weather service bulletins. And if they put out one saying snow, then they sensationalize it to get the viewers to tune in.

It's all about the almighty advertising dollar!

Thats the damn problem we here always face,,we'll get a good snow fall
then a week or less later it'll warm up or rain and all melt,,then we have to
start all over from scratch again..

if we could keep the snow from storm to storm we'd be good, but no
always have to start from grass..

EXACTLY!!!...if it would stay cold for more then a few days at a time..the little bit we get here and there, would eventually acumulate into some decent amounts..

thats the thing about this recent storm we were suppose to get..I already seen its suppose to be warm the next week or so..so it was looking like this was my big chance to get er out for a good ride..then bam..nothing...well, two inches...but not hardly enough to venture out and about thats for sure..

ohh well..there`s always next time..aint over yet..
