I didn't buy my 750 to be "that guy". As a matter of fact I could care less about 100+ , till today! Just headed out for a guick once around the lake. There were a few kids w/ thier new Poo Doo's racing back and forth. So I thought lets see what the old girl can do. (bone stock, unstudded) Well not only was the guy on the 800 Doo upset about me passing him but he was even more mad when he found out I was stock , unstudded and his buddy pointed out that my sled was a 2-up with a backrest!! Haaa haaaha!!!
We raced 3 times all from a rolling start at 40mph. They all had me on the start to about 75 or so then passed 2 piped up mach zero's at 100 pulled beside the 800 he gave the thumbs up then I waved and finished the throttle squeeze and drove away! Boy was that fun , his buddies are never gonna let him live that down!!! My speedo is metric but it was buried at 180 km!
Thanks to all here who have paved the way and inspired!!
thanks,
Tom

Good job Tom! Keep the V4's ahead of the pack of local wanabees....er, wait I guess I'm one too. Oh well, great hearing of any old V4 muscle beating down newer sleds!!

Great story Tom.

Now you know why we were (or at least I was) giving you a little ribbing on the back rest and trailer hitch. These machines have more to them than most might think. Good thing you wern't pulling your tobbogan at the time. Getting blown off by a two up pulling a trailer was probably more than they could handle at one time.

Now back to the hitch. Yer goona need a brake controller added into that package if you plan on pulling a trailer at these speeds. LOL

Have a Good one, opsled

I hear you Tom. Two weeks ago a friend showed up at the house with his bosses new 2008 FX Nitro Yamaha. (3 cylinder 4 stroke) (studded.) We went for a ride down some federation groomed trails but when returned i could not resist. We squared off at the end of the lake in front of my house. He had me, about 1 sled length for the first 75 feet then i went by him & never looked back. What a rush. Both my friend & i were amazed. Even more so for his boss, a local Yamaha dealer. He did not believe the story. My sled is a 94 750 stock without studs. I expect the outcome would have been different if i were racing a RX1 or APEX

no i think we are still faster they just don't build anything that can compete with these 4cyl sleds

You might also want a load distribution system on that rig!
