just picked up this 97 in nova scotia, owner said it was primarily just drag raced.engine is apart with a couple squeeked pistons. psi maxblaster pipes.anyone on here recognize this sled? dwayne davis is the racer's name that had it. say's he has a lot of trophies in the garage from this machine. plan on tearing in to it this summer and getting it ready for next year. it got beat up a bit, driver had a altercation with a trailer when the throttle hung up on the return trip at a grass drag he was at. it got squirelly on him and he hit a trailer, tore up the right side cover and the hood as well as the left strut tube.luckily no frame damage, but the steering gate got a little bent. had a 750 hood painted to match but as you can tell the emblems on the hood are aftermarket and dont really match up too good.came with some nice psi maxblaster pipes the owner had the raised cylinders with porting, k+n filters, vforce reeds but when i bought it it was apart,2 seized pistons and a 3rd was starting to melt the top of the piston. so it looks like i will put a whole new topend on her.he had sold the intake system so i got the whole intake system off creig.i gave 1200.00. i really bought it for the pipes ,suspension and hydraulic brake system and was going to part out the rest but i decided to repair it cause it really is not in that bad a shape.i will post some pics of the engine later today

Nice find, the 97s are a rare breed for sure. Looks like the boost ports on the pistons are modified as well.

Ya Think??? LOL. I could drive a Snosport through those ports. The jugs must be ported some to make that work.

the boost ports are opened to 13/16th and intake has two holes at the lower corners of the cylinder that dump into the transfer ports that are aprox 1/4 inch too. said he also raised the cylinders but did not cut the head.

Yep the 97's are the most. I bought one new in 97 and one used off ebay last year. Even though the machine is beautiful and stocker than stock, it is bent, took a hard landing up front, looks like. Rode the Holy Hell out of it on Houghton Lake. Rollin around up and around 70 80 with many top endings. Fuel, fuel, fuel, fuel, fuel and oil, fuel, fuel, fuel and oil stops. I love it. Oh My the sound........ Rock and Roll...... By the way, nice photos. Hey, and what r.p.m.'s do the pipes run at??? What is an estimated power output of this set up???? 97Vmax-4 Morrises Northernaire Resort
