Not to "rub it in" for the mid west & eastern folks, but, we still have some good snow for spring riding!! My wife & I went up Fri afternoon, unloaded around 3:30, rode until 7:30. Good snow in the high country as we had a cold front come through last Tue-Wed & got 6" -15" snow, depending on the altitude on top of a 130-170" base.

Was not powder snow, but good none the less & in the 4 hours we rode, we saw 8 other sleds & 6 of those were strictly hill climbers playing on some of the "fun faces" we have.

Here are some pics, elevation we were in ranges from 6,000 to 7,800 or so.

A couple pics of Miller time at the bottom of the favorite "hill climb" spot that is right behind me. It is called Moon Mountain & is quite high. It is the area where all the "climbers" come in & try to conquer or set the high mark.
Moon mtn was named that back in 67-68 when NASA used this area for testing the Lunar vehicles & stuff as they felt that this area best represented what terrain they would encounter on the Moons surface would be like.
When the snow is gone, this area is pure rock & pumice dirt. Hard to believe but when you have 140" plus snow, it covers alot of stuff!!

The other pics show mountain peaks with the names of South Sister, Broken Top & Middle Sister. The last pic shows the main ski area on Mt Bachelor.
The top of Bachelor is right at 10,000 feet.
We are on an area called Dutchman Flats that shares the snow with the cross country skiers. This pumice flat when the snow is gone. All from the volcanic action of a few thousand years ago!!

:agree: Those pictures from the mountains are awesome! Wish we could see that far when we're riding here in Michigan.
